About This Quote

I used to be the one who would always be telling you that I felt better. The one that could say that I was now done with those self-pitying thoughts, those negative feelings and those depressing feelings. The one that would always tell you that I was suddenly better than ever and now I was ready to move on and go forward with my life. Well, now it's time for me to finally admit that I haven't really done all of those things.

I haven't gotten over my past pain and struggles and mistakes and regrets and sorrows and wounds and injuries and scars and difficulties and heartaches. It took me a long time, but I finally realized that the only way that I was going to beat to death the soft creature that I used to be is by facing each of those parts of my life head on. And if it's true that the only way to deal with dark times is by getting brighter, then it's time for me to sit down and stare at the part of me that's been hiding from the truth for far too long.
